What if some foot discomfort that we consider normal isn't that normal after all?

There are things we've learned to accept without question. That bunions appear with age. That calluses form. That toes gradually deform, or that at the end of the day, we feel our feet need to escape our shoes as soon as possible.

The strange thing is that we often don't think about our feet until they start to bother us.

For decades, we have used footwear that prioritizes aesthetics, rigidity, or support over something much more basic: letting the foot do its job. Narrow toe boxes, overly rigid soles, lack of space for the toes, or designs that alter our natural way of supporting ourselves have ended up becoming the norm.

And when something becomes habitual, we stop asking ourselves if it's truly normal.

Our feet are designed to expand when walking, distribute loads, and adapt to movement. When they don't have enough space or freedom for years, the body finds ways to compensate. Sometimes it's minor discomforts. Other times, more visible changes appear, such as bunions, hammer toes, calluses, or a constant feeling of fatigue.

This doesn't mean that everything depends on footwear or that every alteration can be avoided. But it is worth asking ourselves how much influence what we wear every day has.

At Nibo, we believe that taking care of your feet doesn't start when pain appears. It starts earlier. It starts by understanding that comfort doesn't always mean rigid support, and that protecting shouldn't mean limiting.

That's why we design footwear that gives space to your toes, accompanies movement, and aims to respect the natural shape of your foot.

Because maybe it's not about getting used to living with certain discomforts.

Maybe it's about ceasing to consider them inevitable.
